Tambour Battant was founded by sisters Mireille and Nathalie, who set out to replace the anonymous, syrupy melodies of traditional music boxes with real character. Each piece pays tribute to a music icon — softened into a caricature gentle enough for a crib, sharp enough to recognise instantly. David Bowie is the house favourite, and the reason the brand exists in the first place.
The melody is a tender music-box rendition inspired by “Starman” — Bowie’s own invitation to dream a little bigger, reimagined as the first tune in someone’s first record collection.
Crafted in France from GOTS-certified organic cotton, printed with non-toxic, water-based inks safe for children, with locally sourced padding. The mechanism carries a 2-year guarantee — if it stops working, Tambour Battant repairs it by replacing the mechanism rather than the object, a small stance against disposable nursery decor.

Switzerland: Standard (economy) delivery generally takes 3 to 5 working days, while priority delivery is completed in 1 to 2 working days. Products from external shipping partners may result in an additional delay of 1 to 2 days.
Europe and international: Delivery times vary depending on the destination. Customs duties and other import taxes are the responsibility of the customer. You will be informed by email in case of delays communicated by the carrier.
