Swiss handmade candles with a unique design. Alena candles are cast in a tin can and then hand-painted in their workshops in the heart of the canton of Fribourg. Alena means ‘to give light’ in the Fribourg dialect, the canton in which Alena has its origins. Miriam is the heart and soul of the brand.
Minimalist and bold, each Alena candle, hand-poured in a tin box, is an expression of style and uniqueness. They are as unique as you are.
In collaboration with renowned perfumers, the fragrances are subtle, captivating and memorable. Each fragrance is a little marvel, chosen for its complexity and balance.
Made in Switzerland, entirely by hand in the traditional, artisanal way.
Recyclable, environmentally friendly. The waxes are made from 100% soya wax, without pesticides or GMOs. The candles are made from a high-quality vegetable wax manufactured in the UK, chosen for its natural, environmentally-friendly properties. Unlike traditional paraffin waxes, this wax respects your health and won’t darken your home.
Fragrance without CMRs or allergens: the fragrances are developed with the utmost care and contain no volatile compounds, CMRs or allergens.
Infinitely recyclable containers: our tin cans are made in France and hand-painted in our workshop. Their tinplate material is infinitely recyclable.

Shipping of in-stock products:
In-stock products will be shipped no later than 3 working days after receipt of the order.
Shipping of in-supply products:
For products in the process of being supplied, delivery times may be extended. Details are given in the descriptions of the products concerned.

We work with the following carriers for shipping your orders: Swiss Post (priority or economy mail), DHL, UPS, and FedEx. The choice of carrier is made at checkout.
International delivery:
We deliver worldwide.
Delivery times:
Switzerland: Standard (economy) delivery generally takes 3 to 5 working days, while priority delivery is completed in 1 to 2 working days. Products from external shipping partners may result in an additional delay of 1 to 2 days.
Europe and international: Delivery times vary depending on the destination. Customs duties and other import taxes are the responsibility of the customer. You will be informed by email in case of delays communicated by the carrier.
Shipping fees:
Shipping costs are automatically calculated at checkout based on the destination country and parcel size.
Orders for gift vouchers and orders with a value exceeding CHF 500 for Switzerland, or CHF 1000 for other countries, qualify for free shipping.
